LOLA IS SICK
is a dramatic comedy about a maintenance man who lives many lives in his fantasies and interactions with the real world.
Vigo Panamesco works in the vicinity of Spanish Harlem. One afternoon as he ordinarily converses with by-passers, he gets entangled in a bizarre conversation with a stranger by the name of Mr. P.
During their encounter Vigo acknowledges that Mr. P obtains private information about him. Vigo develops, gradually, a sense of suspicion and curiosity towards
Mr. P.
Their interactions evolve into a serious and violent dispute. Frightened of Vigo's rage, Mr. P is forced to reveal his identification: Vigo's Boss. And he fires Vigo.

LOLA IS SICK discusses love, self- denial, confusion, determination and passion. The game; the foundation of life where someone has to pay the dues. The winner or the looser. Who/what is a winner or a looser?

LOLA IS SICK appeared as a site-specific performance for about a month, around various public locations throughout Manhattan, New York.

It premiered on August 9, 2002 at the HERE ARTS CENTER in New York.
